Motivational Strategies:

If you haven’t done something spectacular in

your life, NOW, is the time to do it. Start today

and make a plan for doing something awesome!

Finding strategies to help motivate yourself is an important tool in reaching your highest potential in your lifetime...try some of the following techniques:

*Repeatedly, build yourself up with positive energy, thoughts, words and the support of others. Leave affirmations around your living area. Be aware of how and what you think! "Catch yourself"...everytime you have a thought or action that is negative - immediately, replace it with pre-thought-out positive thoughts, remember to do it immediately! Have something ready in your mind or even written down to say to yourself, something that you know makes you feel good to hear!

*Look into the mirror at least twice a day…looking straight into your eyes…and say positive phrases out loud to yourself, such as: “I am special…I am beautiful…I am healthy….I am great! I am a high achiever! I reach my goals! I am doing even more than I have ever done in my life before!  Be sure to say everything to yourself, including your goals, in the present tense, even (especially) if they are not really occuring yet....it will bring your whole being to the mindset of believing that is where and who you truly are and will help change your pattern of thinking.

*When exercising…push yourself for an extra 5 minutes, each time, and you will soon find yourself being able to work out longer and able to get over that “hump” of fatigue.
*Be smart & fully prepared with adventures but “Take A Chance!” and “Trust Your Instincts!” "Convince your entire being that this is what is intended for your life! And, remember, even if things don’t go exactly as expected that’s okay… it’s all part of the adventure and part of a learning process! Some days are good and some aren’t…if you quit when it’s on the rolling side of not being so great…you’ll miss out on the great side that is coming around!

*If you have had tragic experiences in your life…you have already learned “how to survive,” and can turn those survival skills into tools for getting through life’s hard times and reach even higher potentials in your life.

* It's not always easy. Do the hard work that it takes to accomplish your goal! You and your goals are worth the extra effort that is required.

*If you don't give it your all...you are selling yourself short and you deserve better than that! Whooaahhh....What was that word?...Deserve!....Sometimes people get trapped into a negative mindset that maybe they don't deserve to be rewarded with achieving their goals....NONSENSE! Everyone, makes mistakes...it's all part of the human condition and part of a learning process. Guilt, feeling sorry for yourself, remaining a victim are all self-defeating mentalities....YOU DESERVE THE BEST! DON'T ACCEPT ANY OTHER THOUGHT PATTERNS OTHER THAN POSITIVE, CONSTRUCTIVE ONES THAT WILL PROPEL YOU INTO A FORWARD MOTION!

*Try something new, brainstorm, find your passion….something that makes you feel really, really excited!
* Write out your goals on paper, put it away…then look at it again a few days later…what changes do you need to make to better achieve it, what do you need to add or get rid of? Also, write out a "Plan B.”

*Go public with your goal! The pressure will help keep you motivated and announcing it to others will help build a support team for you. When friends keep inquiring as to how your plans are coming along....if they have come to a stop they will be easier to resume. If anyone thinks you're crazy for what you want to do or is negative about it....use that as a "Well, I'll prove to you I can do it!" Let it bring out your competitive spirit!

*Reward yourself…a new outfit or something else…tell yourself when you reach your goal that it will be rewarded with “that something new!"

*Each morning when you get up tell yourself…"Yes…I want to feel good today! And, I’m going to get some exercise, even if it’s for 5 minutes." Exercise in an incredible way to combat stress!
*Make a series of small goals that are easily reached….you can help trick your brain that you can achieve success...move on to harder and harder things as you go on.

*Be flexible and remember your "Plan B." Hard, rigid rules will take the joy and adventure out of your passion! It's okay to restructure the process of achieving your goal as many times as you need! Just keep moving forward no matter how small the steps are.

*Work hard at becoming the most "infectious" person you know of...that is, infectious with enthusiasm!

Remember, if you haven’t done something spectacular in your life, NOW, is the time to do it. Start today and make a plan for doing something awesome!
